Mark Holly’s digital photography fluctuates between high-definition, photorealism to leading-edge digital manipulation utilizing popular styles of expression. Mark's digital art is often considered edgy with bold colors, unique shapes, forms, and compositions. His photography gives a sense of being "in" the location yourself almost as if you could reach out and touch elements in the scene.
From the artist: "The Colors of Covid" was created over a period of four weeks during the Covid-19 pandemic. My intention was to create something to serve as a reminder of the time and the emotions we experienced, using representative color, texture, and shapes. The various shades of blue represent the calmness often experienced with family, friends, or spending time doing what we love. Red and orange, the deep feelings of fear and anger cultivated. Black represents the malaise felt, while the remaining shades the day-to-day realities of this time. The end result: a vibrant work of art that seems to be highly fluid, yet somehow manages to simultaneously stand still. A lot like 2020, don't you think?"
